LAWS REQUIREMENTS & NEED (RUKUN TETANGGA)
BACKGROUND
The Rukun Tetangga scheme was introduced in 1975 under the Committee of the Need Regulations (Rukun Tetangga) 1975. In its early stages, its function was to ensure the safety of the people by constantly patrolling residential areas. These patrols consisted of residents of the community aged 18 to 55.
On the 1st of January 1983, the Government introduced reforms, stressing the Neighbour Concept , which aimed at strengthening team spirit in the community. Following this, the Need Regulation (Rukun Tetangga) 1975 was amended to accommodate Rukun Tetangga’s new purposes.In the Year 2000, Rukun Tetangga was given a wider mandate , namely Building a Holistic Community, which is aimed at promoting National Unity.

PROMOTING UNDERSTANDING AND TOLERANCE IN ORDER TO DEVELOP A UNITED MALAYSIAN PEOPLE WITH A UNIQUE IDENTITY.
OBJECTIVE
TO PROTECT, RAISE AND STRENGTHEN THE UNITY OF THE PEOPLE AND NATIONAL INTEGRATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NATION ACCORDING TO THE FEDERAL CONSTITUTION AND THE NATIONAL PRINCIPLES.

semua tu adalah prk asas yg dah diamalkan oleh nenek moyang kita lama dulu & dituntut oleh agama Islam sendiri. Tp sbb terlalu mengejar kemodenan kita jd individualistik & semakin lupa pd prk asas yg begitu mudah utk diamalkan...we take things for granted, sampai kita kena bljr semula prk2 asas ni. Anyway...sekurang2 nya kita dah semakin sedar & hrp kita semua akan berjaya merealisaikannya. Insya-Allah.
